Helm in The Republic Of Ireland

Helm Housing, formerly BIH Housing Association, has been a registered social landlord in Northern Ireland with charitable status since 1975. In 2000, Helm Housing established itself in the Republic of Ireland and we have approved status for Voluntary Housing under Section 6 of the Housing (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1992. We are registered with the Department of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government, and are a member of the Irish Council for Social Housing. We have over 450 properties, catering to a wide range of needs.

Helm has won numerous awards including a Charter Mark for excellence in public service, ISO Standards and Investors in People. Hanover Quay in the Dublin Docklands, which is managed by Helm, won the RIAI's premier competition for excellence of design in housing.

Helm Housing provide a wide range of housing in rural and urban areas to meet a variety of needs, such as housing for families, housing for single persons, key workers and accommodation for ethnic minorities. Helm also provide supported housing for frail and active elderly people, people with learning disabilities, homeless people and people with physical disabilities.
